Energy is the numbered part of a cost. Read it together with any Power symbols rather than treating either part as the complete cost.
Example
A card preview can show an Energy number beside one or more domain-specific Power requirements.
Common mix-up
Energy and Power are related parts of paying a cost, but the Energy number does not replace the printed Power requirements.
